As a parallel effort to my run for State Rep, I am also running for a Gender Balance Add-On Seat on the Democratic State Committee (DSC). The election is this Saturday, and only current DSC members are eligible to vote.
I believe that government is how we take care of each other, and it’s my firm intention to use my energy to help the DSC spread this message, recruit new Democrats, and help Democratic candidates win elections.
I’m pleased to announce that I have the endorsement of the New Progressive Leaders for the DSC seat. I’m very excited to share this honor with so many other wonderful progressive Democrats, including my good friends, Celia Nolan (Celia for State Committee) and Elika Peyvan (Vote Elika). The mission of the New Progressive Leaders reflects the commitment of its members to moral leadership, which I deeply respect and, as a member, voted for:
“Our mission is to advance structural change, racial & gender parity in office, and progressive policies in the Massachusetts legislature and municipal governments by identifying, recruiting, and supporting progressive candidates, particularly those from underrepresented and marginalized communities.Mission Statement of the New Progressive Leaders, https://www.facebook.com/pg/new.progressive.leaders/about/?ref=page_internal
Our vision is to create a Massachusetts where state and local governments affirm and take action to implement progressive priorities in a transparent and accountable manner and that reflects the racial, cultural, and gender diversity of the Commonwealth.”
